About RefnaBot
RefnaBot visits public web pages when a Refna user asks to collect the outbound links on a page. It then fetches each linked homepage once to read its title, description and icon, so people can see what each link is.
How it identifies itself
Requests carry the user agent RefnaBot/1.0 (+https://refna.app/bot).
How it behaves
- It only reads public pages. It never logs in, never submits forms, and never gets around paywalls, CAPTCHAs or bot protection.
- It makes at most two requests at a time to any one site and backs off when a site responds with HTTP 429 or
Retry-After. - It fetches a destination once and reuses the result for up to seven days.
- It reads
robots.txtand records what it says, but a robots rule alone does not stop a user-requested collection. If you don't want RefnaBot to visit your site, use the form below — we honour those requests.
